 Keeping your bike safe
The police have offered these helpful hints for securing bicycles:

Leave bikes where possible in secure lockers. These are available at Trinity Square, Broadmarsk and Fletchergate car parks.

  • If leaving a bike in the city centre, place it in a "bike park" or secure to fixed street furniture, such as a lamp post.
  • Make sure you make a note of the make, colour and frame number of the bike
  • Get the frame of the bike post-coded and make a note of it
  • An alternative to post-coding is Datatag, a new electronic tagging system, available from Notts police
  • Buy a good qulity D lock to secure the bike, on which costs around £20

Nottingham City Council have a leaflet available for free from the Nottingham Anti-Social Behaviour Helpline, tel. 915 2020, email asbhelp [at] nottinghamcity [dot] gov [dot] uk.
